5 Splurges That Are Okay to Buy
If you have a little extra money lying around, it's definitely okay to treat yourself! You work hard, and you deserve a reward! And after all, there's nothing like a little luxury.
It's okay to splurge on...
1. A really good skin cream... like 3lab Perfect Moisturizer ($100.00 by 3lab at SkinStore). You're never too young to begin an anti-aging skincare regime, and this daily lotion has intensive anti-aging benefits and skin brightening therapy. After receiving a sample of this cream, I was immediately smitten!
2. A great pair of comfortable flats... Your feet need to be pampered, especially if you're standing up most hours of the day. Pay a little more for comfort and style, like with the Bass Women's Enfield Oxford ($58.95 by Bass at Endless.com).
3. A hair straightener... like the CHI Ionic Single Pass Ceramic Hairstyling Iron GF 1122 (on sale for $129.00 at Drugstore.com). When you have thick hair, there's nothing like having a cheap straightening iron. This is one product I will absolutely not spend less than $100 on. Not only do I want the product to last for more than a year, I also want it to do a good job making my hair silky and straight.
4. A good haircut... There's nothing worse than a bad haircut! In the south, you can get a good haircut for anywhere upwards of $50. But my best friend lives in Manhattan, and she can attest than in the city, you should spend at least $75 or more on a decent haircut. Price range will vary according to location, and you should always talk to your stylist about what you want before he/she lifts the scissors. But it doesn't hurt to pay a little more for something you'll be happy with.
5. A manicure that lasts... You just can't go wrong with a Shellac Manicure. It lasts for up to fourteen days (sometimes longer) without chipping or becoming dull. This spring, CND now offers the Shellac manicure in twelve fabulous new shades!
