Organic food

Many of the foods we eat are manufactured, loaded with preservatives or treated with pesticides before they are harvested. Some of these processes diminish the nutritional value of the foods we eat; they may even be contributing to a variety of serious and non-serious health problems, several health experts and nutritionists have said. Organic foods, on the other hand, are raised naturally without interference from nasty chemicals, pesticides and preservatives. Many dietitians believe that people who eat mostly organic foods will lead healthier, more nutritious lives.

Why should you eat organic food? Listed here are some reasons to help you understand why organic foods are so important:

Fewer chemicals: As stated earlier, organic foods are free of harmful chemicals and pesticides that may linger in fruits and vegetables until after they're harvested. There is also organically certified beef, which signifies that the animals slaughtered were raised by consuming organic feed. Some chemicals and pesticides are allowed in the production of organic food, but there are tight restrictions on exactly which types can be used.

More nutritious: Organic foods tend to contain higher levels of vitamins and minerals than non-organic foods. This means you'll get more vitamins in fewer calories on an organic food diet.

Taste: The best reason to eat food is taste, right? Organic foods usually taste better than their non-organic counterparts. Organic fruits and vegetables may taste better because they need longer to grow without the use of heavy chemicals. By growing naturally, organic food items tend to grow larger and have a fuller flavor.

Real food: Genetically altered crops and feed are not permitted for something to be organically certified. This means fruits and vegetables are all real, and that organically certified meat doesn't come from animals that were fed genetically altered food.

Better for the environment: Organic farming is good for the environment because fewer pesticides and chemicals drain into the water table.
